Lamy

Josef Lamy left Parker in the Late 1920’s to form his own business, then called Orthos Fullhalterfabrik based in Germany. The initial models were very similar to the Parker Button fillers of the time but the company soon began producing their own styles with a combination pen and Pencil patented in 1933.

In 1949 a new line of pens called Artus commenced incorporating a patented piston-filler mechanism. Many models were introduced and the company went from strength to strength with a significant development in 1965 when the great designer Gerd Muller joined the company

The first pen to emerge was the famous Lamy 2000 an exceptional and complex pen. This and other designs were so successful they were quickly copied by other manufactures.

The company continued to enjoy a prosperous period and still manufactures high quality instruments today.
