Platinum

Platinum started life as Nakaya Seisakusho in 1924 founded by Shunichi Nakata with the aim of being a major producer of Fountain pens in Japan. The company soon grew and in 1928 changed it’s name to “Platinum Fountain Pen Co. Early Pens were standard lever fillers but in the 1930’s the compnay began producing high quality Mak-E Laquered pens using high quality artists. After the War Fountain Pen production recommenced and in the late 40’s Ballpoint pens were being developed in differnet guises. During the Late 60’s the compnas began producing another highly collectable range of pens called Platinum-Platinum. These were highly decorative Sterling silver models. In addition they began producing Highly Collectable Leather covered Pens culminaing in the Amazonas Range by the late 60’s. These pens are covered in Beautiful leather derived from the Surinam Toad. In the late 70’s another iconic peen was introduced – the 3776 and by the Late 80’s new Mak-E designs were being produced. Platinum still produce high quality, highly collectable writing instruments today
