Module One course:

 

Day One

10am   Meet and greet. Introduction to the course with demonstration

“How to change sacs without breaking pens”.

11am   Coffee

Button fill, lever/leverless fill, Crescent fill instruction

1pm     Lunch in the dining room at Chateau de Grandchamp.

Free time to walk in grounds.

2pm     Practical work on individual projects. Practising techniques learned.

4pm     Tea break

5pm     Course ends for the day.

 

Day Two

10am.  Demonstration. Stripping down & repairing Sheaffer Snorkel.

11am    Coffee.

Servicing the Sheaffer Snorkel.

1pm     Lunch in chateau dining room

2pm     Stripping down and servicing the Mont Blanc piston fill.

4pm     Tea Break.

5pm     Course ends for the day.

 

Day Three

10am.  Demonstration on nib adjustment.

11am   Coffee.

Working on individual projects with one-to-one tuition.

1pm.    Lunch in Chateau dining room.

2pm     Working on individual projects with one-to-one tuition.

4pm.    Tea Break.

5pm     Course finishes.


 

Module Two course

 

Day One

10am    Meet and Greet.

Demonstration on fitting new diaphragm for Vacumatic

11am    Coffee

Parker Vacumatic including Parker 51.

1pm       Lunch in dining room at Chateau de Grandchamp.

2pm       Working on Parker pens, also individual projects.

4pm       Tea Break.

5pm       Course ends for the day.

 

Day Two

10am    Demonstration of renovating an early Onoto de la Rue piston filler.

11am    Coffee.

Working on Onoto pens.

1pm       Lunch at the Chateau.

2pm       Working on individual projects with one-to-one tuition.

4pm       Tea Break.

5pm       Finish for the day.

 

Day Three

10am    Demonstration on repairing cracks in pens.

11am    Coffee.

Crack repairs and Barrel threads.

1pm       Lunch at the Chateau.

2pm       Working on individual projects with tuition.

4pm       Tea Break

5pm       Course finishes.

Where in France are the courses held?

At Chateau de Grandchamp, 2 rue de Noyant, Tanis 50170, Normandy.

 

Is accommodation available at the chateau?

No, the chateau is undergoing restoration and does not have suitable accommodation. We can recommend many nice places to stay which are only 10 – 15 minutes away

 

I do not know whether to pick Module One or Two?

We suggest, if in doubt choose Module One.

 

I am interested in a brand of pen not listed on the course.

No problem. The courses can be modified to incorporate brands of interest to participants. Also, time for individual projects means one-to-one tuition on individual interests.

 

How many of my own pens can I bring for repair or restoration?

Up to 5 project pens per person.

 

How much does the course cost?

£385 (447 euros) per person for a three day course.

A deposit of £50 or 50 euros will be required to reserve a place with the booking form.
