Pelikan

Originally started by Herr Hornemann the company first used the Famous Pelican Symbol in 1878 after the company was sold out to Gunther Wagner who used his own family crest for inspiration. The Pelikan Factory began supplying products for offices including stamp pads, glue and carbon paper. It was not until 1929, after another change in ownership, did Pelikan begin manufacturing fountain Pens with the Launch of the 100. By 1934 the Factory were producing their own nibs and pencils. Although the Company escaped with little damage during the war, pen production ceased from 1944 to 1947. The next few decades produced a highly collectable range of pens, mostly piston fills with superb nib. The Company is still producing a huge range of pens which are superb quality and ideal everyday writers
