Safety Pens were extremely Popular at the beginning of the last Century with Waterman being the marked leader. The most beautiful examples, with stunning metal work were made in Italy, often based on a Waterman pen. Safety pens offer an excellent choice as a practical pen today as they hold a large amount of ink, hold the nib in ink, sealed by the cap so they do not dry up and all have superb flexible nibs
To fill a safety pen, the nib must be retracted, and ink put into the barrel using an eyedropper. Hold the Barrel Upright at all times until the nib is moved to the correct writing position or the cap is screwed on. All our pens have new O Rings fitted and have been pressure tested so will not leak
